ModelRight Sales FAQs

Click on the queries below to find answers to frequently asked questions about ModelRight and our sales and support policy.

Q.  How secure is your server?
A.

All credit card data are transmitted using the secure (encrypted) HTTP protocol according to the current SSL standard. If you still do not want to transmit your encrypted credit card number over our secure server connection, you can also send us a fax or call us (for phone and fax numbers see next question).

Q.  Is it possible to order by fax or phone?
A.

Yes, just fill out your online order and select that as your "Method of Payment".

Q.  Can I pay by check or wire transfer?
A.

Yes. We accept credit cards, check, wire transfer, purchase orders and cash. Please fill in the shopping cart and click Continue to secure order page to calculate the order total and choose your preferred payment method.

Q.  If I buy ModelRight, what do I get?
A.

ModelRight is delivered electronically via Internet download. After your order has been processed, you will receive a registration email from Plimus which contains all the neccessary information to unlock the product.

Q.  How long does it take to process my order?
A.

Usually a few minutes. Plimus authorizes credit card orders almost immediately. In very few cases, if the credit card company refuses to authorize a credit card online, the authorization process must be handled manually which can take a couple of hours. You get an instant email confirmation for your order anyway. Only check orders and wire transfer take a few days.

Q.  Since the key is tied to my current hardware/machine. What happens if I change machines or install new hardware
A.

The locking mechanism allows for several changes to the hardware before it is triggered. If it does get triggered, simply contact ModelRight support at support@modelright.com and request a new key(s).

Q.  If I buy multiple licenses, Plimus sends me multiple keys, but they only seem to work on the machine I ordered on.
A.

You will need to contact ModelRight support at support@modelright.com for additional keys. Run ModelRight on any machine that you want to use and send us the hardware fingerprint as indicated on the Reminder Screen that appears as soon as you start it. We will promptly return your email with keys for those machines.

Q.  What if I lose my registration key?
A.

We have your address on file and will send you this information again. Just contact our support at support@modelright.com if this happens to you.

Q.  Can I continue to work on my existing data models with the full version?
A.

Yes. When you purchase ModelRight, you will be provided with a key that unlocks the evaluation version. So you don't even need to re-install. Just open your data models with the registered version of ModelRight.

Q.  What is your return policy if I am not satisfied with your product?
A.

We strive to provide the best data modeling tool with the best support. If you are not satisfied with our products, for whatever reasons, we refund orders within 30 days after purchase.

Q.  Do I get a tax invoice from you?
A.

You get a tax invoice from Plimus, Inc. which is the reseller and merchant. This invoice comes electronically with your registration email. If you need a hard copy, please contact Plimus, Inc. at sales@plimus.com for a paper invoice sent with regular mail at our expense. Please include your order number in the request.

Q.  Which support plans do you offer?
A.

If you purchase the support plan, we provide email support for one year after purchase. This time limit is made to make a statement. You can expect support beyond that date as well. Just contact us at support@modelright.com if you have any questions.

Or you can telephone support at (215) 478-5538 or sales at (215) 478-5539.

Q.  How often do you supply updates and at which rates?
A.

We issue minor updates every 3 - 4 months. Minor updates are generally free and we inform you via mailing list when an update becomes available. Minor updates are all updates but the next major version number (e.g. all 2.xx updates).

For major updates we calculate reasonable update prices - less than 50 % of the regular purchase price.
